wavestation and cz 1000

Post by megamanx » Sun Dec 09, 2012 3:03 am

well my latest purchases came with problems. the wave station is working but the buttons work from time to time. Sometimes if I press on then for a little while they work. Also I have a feeling that the battery might be dead. the questions are (and I read this on the internets) that a little deoxit might do the trick for the buttoms? and how do I check the battery?
to save a post, I'll explain the problem with the cz, it turns on and then it flickers, gets frozen and turns off. then if I try to turn it on it won't turn on at all until about a half an hour later it goes to the same process. I have a feeling it might be the power button or supply. Any ideas? I won't be able to fix it myself but would like to know if it is even worth it even trying.

I too recently got my hands on a wavestation that required all the same attention. The wavestation kb is the easiest to replace the coin battery. Take the back cover off and it has a readily accessible battery holder. However, to clean the tactile switches the button board needs to be removed which requires most of the synth to be disassembled. You'll encounter sturdy foil shielding as you remove the keybed first. I too have a dead backlight which I'm ignoring for now since I can still use the synth, excepting a faint whine from the current driver.
