Vintage Midi Synths :D

Post by Bluestreak747 » Tue Mar 19, 2013 2:41 am

Hello!

FNG here.

I am wanting to get all my vintage synths firing over a Digital Audio Interface so I can compose with Cubase as well as play them and record this into my DAW (leaning towards Cubase) running on a MAC OS.

So far here is my lineup:

TR707
JUP6
Juno106 (X2)
Juno60 (going to get it moded)
ESQ-1

hopefully - Prohpet 12 eventually.

Here is my most immediate question(s). I have been thinking about getting a Steinberg MR816X. I just ordered an Opcode 64x patchbay for midi and want to know if I am on the right track with the intention of hooking up 5 or six vintage MIDI synths into Cubase? Should I purchase a second Opcode 64X so they can be swapped out with the MR816X? This would give me, I think, 8 independent ports to expand a little.

I know not how I will hook all of this up as I suspect the learning curve is rather steep but I would appreciate any insight from those who have 'gone before' so I can lay down tracks with these marvelous instruments and put them on youtube :D!

Thanks in advance,

Jonathan
