jx8p just strings

i cant afford a JP8 but want the warm classic string sound....i know the jx8p is well known for its soundtrack P17 sound...alphaville style string.

i would like to get as close to a miami vice string sound as possible....should i be looking just at the jx8p or are there others i should consider. i wonder.
