So, I just faced this problem with midi jitter in WIN7. It's ubsolutely impossible to work with hardware synths, the jitter is too big!! I'm using Midex8(with latest win64 drivers) as a midi-int, and it seems the problem is remaining in every single DAW ( tried Sonar, Ableton, Cubase).

Googling was useless

No real sollution.

So, any ideas?

MIDI on all computers except that old Atari ST (which had native MIDI ports with OS support) is going to be sloppy, it's just the nature of a general purpose operating system.

Are you using this computer strictly for music? If so you can help things by shutting off every superfluous process that might try to run in the background. Google around to find recommendations on exactly what to disable on a Win7 machine.

Professionals are still using Win7 boxes so it's possible to get your MIDI timing under better control.
