Hi All....ive just landed a 626 so i can use in conjunction with the new TR 8...
im going to make the TR 8 the master as you can fine tune the tempo.
was wondering if i use midi from the TR 8 to clock the 626 to a set the tempo, do you think it will work.
i was informed that the 626s tempo jumps every 2 if you use it on its own.
would midi get rid of this phenomina.
cheers
TR 8 master 626 slave midi timing

The 626 jumps every 2 if you use it on its own?
Never experienced that. Mine also works just as fine from midi sync as anything else (i.e., not very good if said midi sync is coming from a computer)
Shouldn't be a problem with the TR8.

The sequential drumtrax is like that too. I forget if it only gives you the evens or the odds, but it syncs perfectly to an external clock. I don't know why the h**l the h**l they made them that way.
This looks like a psychotropic reaction. No wonder it's so popular...

Yes, you can set the TR-626 to slave to external MIDI clock. The manual will tell you how to do that.
What he means by the 626 skips every 2, is that the 626's internal tempo increments by 2s rather than by single beats per minute. So instead of 120 bpm, 121 bpm, 122 bpm, 123 bpm, the 626 goes: 120 bpm, 122 bpm, 124 bpm.

Aaaaah now I get it. Never noticed that.
IIRC, for ext sync: press shift + button 15 (sync / midi), set it to ext with the up / down buttons...
