JV1080 no sound!

Hello. New to the forum, the JV1080, and synths in general.

I bought a roland JV1080 recently. machine is very clean & seems to function perfectly. I had been just using headphones thru the front jack but recently hooked it up to my interface (mono thru the main Left output). I am not getting any sound to the interface. Nor can I get sound out of any of the other back panel outputs. (volume is turned up all the way on 1080) When I plug the 1080 into my interface using the headphone jack it works fine and is loud and clear. so I know the issue is with the back outputs and not the rest of the set up.

Is there some output setting I am missing somewhere? I checked the manual and troubleshoot sections but found no help there. or perhaps something else I'm overlooking?

to be clear, on some of the louder patches I can JUST BARELY hear the sounds from the 1080 thru the interface, but seriously, JUST BARELY! The quieter patches are inaudible completely.

really hope this is a setting issue somewhere and not a physical problem. any HELP would be appreciated. :?:

Troubleshooting the obvious things, and the interface first:
I don't know what interface you are using.
You may already know it is working as you had other synths plugged in. Or not.
Is your interface set up and working properly?
Are your output monitors and/or amp turned on? Obvious I know.
Do you have anything else to plug into the synth outputs, like powered speakers directly? Or guitar amp? Just to eliminate the interface as suspect. Again you may already know for sure that it is fine.

Troubleshooting the JV1080:
Since the synth is new to you, maybe consider a factory reset. Page 74 of the manual. This should fix any setup problems right away.
I presume you are NOT getting the "Internal Battery Low" message during boot-up. Low battery levels create all sorts of mayhem on synths.
Performance Mode can have bizarre output configs. Try Patch mode or rhythm mode if you haven't already.
Make sure continuous controllers, like a volume pedal, are not to blame.
If using the Output 1 and 2, try switching the cables over to the Mix Output Jacks. Or vice versa.
Changing the mix outputs in the patch settings are described on Page 45.

Good luck.
