odd Prophet 08 PE behavior

Post by moodorf » Thu Oct 06, 2016 7:16 pm

I bought an 08 PE almost a year ago now and though I am happy with it 95% I did notice an odd quirk. Often, if I turn on my 08 and immediately go to town shaping a patch with a lot of modulation within 10 seconds of turning on the synth, sometimes the knobs stop responding.

If I turn it off and on again it's fine, but it makes me wonder--should I be letting my DCO-based synths "warm up" for a few minutes the same way it's recommended to do for VCO based synths, or powerful computers, etc? :?: I know the tuning should be fine since they're DCOs, but I meant the digital part of the synth....should it take a breather?

I've never seen that behavior on my Evolver, although I doubt I have ever started tweaking within 10 seconds of turning it on!

Your question might be better answered by DSI customer support. It certainly sounds unsusual.
I listened to Hatfield and the North at Rainbow. They were very wonderful and they made my heart a prisoner.
