Prophet 6 vs Prophet 5

Hey all - I've taken an old song of mine and reworked it twice, once with a Prophet 6 and then with a (rev 3) Prophet 5. I did the P6 track here in Berlin, putting down some MIDI files as I went. The P5 lives in California, so I couldn't do an exact side-by-side match up, but I did try to approximate the sounds between the two versions best I could. The main difference is the bass - the P5 had some issues in Unison mode (one of the oscs would knock itself out of tune, so I only used one oscillator for the bass). I did a fresh mix with the P6 once back in Berlin, this time trying to get the P6 to sound like the softer one-osc Unison bass. In the Soundcloud playlist there's also a quick snippet running through the three different bass tones.

Drums were Roland TR-707 processed through a DSI Evolver.

I had a great time doing this comparison, and while I still insist the P5 has a certain magic that I can't better describe, the whole experience got me more deeply in tune with my P6. Hope you enjoy.
