Creating tracks entirely with a single monosynth

Lots of heavy arguments lately (of which I am guilty) - let's discuss techniques and provide examples of monosynth use in a constructive way.

Here's a track entirely done on a Mono/Poly

Here's another using a Polivoks

One more track done on a CZ-101. Not a monosynth, but it was used as one for this particular purpose.

All sounds, even drums, must come from the single synth of choice (although you can multitrack as much as desired).

Other than mild delay, reverb, and a touch of EQ, let's try to keep them relatively unprocessed so that we can hear the synth flavor.

I'd like to hear other examples!

I like the thread idea memo. I've been thinking more and more about what i would like to own, and i used to want an equal amount of poly and mono synths. But now, i really like the idea of composing in mono, and using many mono synths to make songs. I think the an1x might be my only poly synth, and i think I'm going to get like 2 more mono synths for my stuff. Nice tracks BTW!

Second track is entirely done on EML Synkey. First track is got lots of it too, but in a combo with some others synths.

I use cubase sx to multitrack all my analogs. Its funny, but since Synkey doesnt have any sync input i actually started to "Play" my synths, rather then strictly sequencing them

the joy electric pretty much works exclusively with monosynths i think and he is damn good at it too.

Wan't that Yaz record done pretty much entirely on a Pro One? There's a website around that demonstrates this, but I can't find the link at the moment.

Only you and Don't go was pretty much all Proone except for drums. I believe an Arp 2600 and/or Roland System 100m was used for that.

I'm a fan of mono sounds. I like those examples and it's something I'm going to try. And as soon as I have the funds I'm going to buy an evolver.

all of this stuff is a moog prodigy and a behringer reverb/echo box, multitracked.

i like monosynthesizers and toy synths, such as my casiotone. i like to keep things simple and fun.

There's a remix of one of our tracks on our Myspace that was done entirely on the Pro one except for the drums.

Well, I recorded this last week but it has a Roland DR-880 for drums - the rest of it, however is all Little Phatty, dry with one or two lines that have a hint of reverb.

When I owned an Fr-777 (which I miss dearly), I made a song with it completely from drums, bass, fx and leads. Sampled and sequenced on an Rs7000. I lost the track when switching set-ups.

this is not a 100% SYB-3 track...

I would say 75% : noise filter, bass, lead. The drum is from a DR-220E because the SYB-3 is not much good for drum machine sounds...
