Bach Invention 8

Hi everyone!

Here's my version of Bach's eighth invention in F major. I don't play it as fast as most, as I find that too fast of a tempo on this one makes it a lot less musical. All sounds are from the alesis ion, and I abused c**p out of some of its unique features (especially the 8va bandpass filter). Sorry about the poor sound quality.

just froze and did nothing for me, sorry - no audio coming out of it even when it was playing. I use savefile myself with no probs, so I don't know what the issue is.

I just checked and it was working for me. I accidentally put about five seconds of silence before the recording, though, which I should have mentioned. I'm sorry it's not working for you.

Ah! Tried again, and now it works.

...it's a little crazy, but in a good way - I prefer the patches during the last half, the main lead at first sounds a little tentative - but it's got a real retro-computer game feel to it. Fun! Have you done a few of these, or just the one? Might be good to put a collection together. Kind of Carlos on Red Bull and vodka.

This is the only one I have done, but I'm working on Bach's first invention at the moment.

I had a dream where I played Bach's eighth invention on a stack of five alesis andromedas

, and the ion was the closest thing that I had. The viola-like sound in the second half was also from a dream. I spent over an hour trying to recreate it.
