Painkillers the musical!

I hurt my back, and have spent most of the last 2 weeks in bed, loaded on prescription drugs... i recorded a song last sunday, aptly titled 'painkillers'.
I recorded it into the little mic on the screen of my ibook, but i think it went okay.

some trivia: the picture that comes up when the song plays is what an x-ray of my spine would look like. I use to be somewhat of a hunchback so they put metal rods in to make it straight. trippy.

its great, definetely get the feeling of being off ur head!

but i love that song for beginners one, so organic sounding and very sigur ros like. nicest stuff ive heard round here for a while

just listening now, out of interest when you say you recorded with the mic on your ibook do you mean you played synths etc through amps/speakers and then recorded that into the laptop? It sounds really nice, has a nice natural airy feel to it, gives it a feeling of space (and I don't mean outter space, more like the musical exists in a physical space or something.) Gets a really nice distant sounds towards the end.

Really good atmosphere and ambient s**t.

Yeah, everything went through my girlfriend's cheap 15w ashton bass amp, into that tiny little dot microphone next to the screen.
I didnt do any eq'ing or anything, just added a little reverb.

It's strange, i bought an audio interface, thinking that going straight in to the computer would make everything sound better, and it does for drum machines, but everything else sounds really cold and lacking dynamics. i guess this is where learning to eq stuff comes in, yes?

it was one of the first things I ever recorded. Lots of feedback.. hence the title.

the harmony around 3.00 is excellent in painkillers.
the song itself reminds me of the chemical bros and wayne coyne's 'the golden path' (compliment, obviously)
