"Midnight Sun" Ambient House music (now in stereo!

Post by TrondC » Fri Jul 11, 2008 12:26 pm

yup, in the series of re-recording my old tracks in stereo, time has come to the track "Midnight Sun", my ambient/house track. I gave the drums a little face-lift and turned down some parts on the ESX so it's a little less heavy on the bass..

yeah, that's it really ;)

comments are welcome :)

i remember this one, nice. what reverb did you use, hardware?

anyway,

reminds me of the chemical bros mellower stuff - star guitar, the sunshine underground, surface to air etc, which im a hugh fan of.

everything exept the main drums (the ER1), is nothing but my ESX. using stereo really widened out the sound :)

I keep thinking the main "lead" is too drowned in reverb to stand out enough, but then again, I've tries layering the lead with a more high pitched sound from my microkorg, but it just doesn't sound as good ;)

anyway, thanx :)

Sounds good, particularly like the beats and the background theme. Nice one.

nice one, TrondC!

good to have the filter on each part for the ESX. makes it into quite a versatile drumbox it does.

I really enjoyed this. It's amazing you made it just from those two pieces of gear.

Yeah, good track Trondc. Wish I could use stereo on all my stuff that has a L/R output. Need more channels.

you mean more channels on your mixer? I went from recording everything in Mono due to lack of inputs on my tape-recorder, and buying a mixer with more inputs wat the best choice I've ever made :)

thanx for all the replies guys, It really feels good to make something people like :)

I did, but then the volume is too high on certain freqencies, causing overdrive..

anyway, I guess this is one track I'll keep on working with every now and then :)
