As usual, I've knocked up another Christmas ditty, to bring a wry smile to even the stony of faces. Why not post your own in here too, for a bit of festive fun!!

This year, I present a direct sequel to last year's 'Santa Pulls a Sickie' - 'Santa's Got The 'Tude'.

It's also on my MySpace and Soundclick pages. On it, I used:

Roland RD300SX - piano
Roland VK8 - organ
Roland Jupiter 6 - verse bits
Roland JV-880 - strings and sax
Roland P-330 - vibes
Yamaha DX7s - for those tubular bells!
Yamaha CS5 - solo
Alesis SR-18 - drums

I like it! It has a nice 80s vibe to it.

Oh yeah, those tubular bells are one of my holiday season guilty pleasures, as you'll see in my tracks below.

Here's two new tracks I made last weekend:

Jingle Bells (a nice upbeat 80s version)

The First Noel (more mellow, but still very 80s-ey)

See who can guess what synths I used for what parts. Should be easy enough. :)

Here's last year's Christmas creations.

Carole Of The Bells - this is my own take on Carol Of The Bells featuring a lot more of those bells. ;)
Little Drummer Boy - a touch of Vangelis in this one
O Holy Night - loosely based on Kitaro's "Silk Road"
Silent Night - my favorite Christmas song, this rendition is based on a version I originally made in '92 and was inspired by an old girlfriend. The extended intro/outro is called "Ghosts of Christmas Past", originally composed in 1996. I may re-record this piece this year now that I have real analog synths.

Thanks!

I'm glad I'm not alone in having the DX7 tubulars as a guilty pleasure! That's a bumper crop you have there - love Jingle Bells and The First Noel!

I especially liked Drummer Boy as it reminded me instantly of 'To The Unknown Man' (one of my favourite Vangelis tunes) - fantastic!

Thanks... I like to think I've gotten better at making songs since last year, or maybe it's because of the Andromeda, which is featured especially in Jingle Bells. :)

I'll have to check that Vangelis tune out, I've never heard it.
