I was messing about with one of the CTR (control) Machines in the MD last night. These "Machines" allow you to control the effects of the MD. The particular machine i used is the CTR-RE machine. I used it to control the Delay in the MD, replicating the Beat Repeat function in Ableton. Using the paramters lock function, i set the steps to be "repeated" locked with the Level amount all the way up and the Feedback amount to 64. The rest of the steps the Level and Feedback amounts were locked to zero. Messing with the Rate amount on the CTR machine yields some really cool Rhythmic Echo effects. But only on the steps that aren't locked to zero. Someone on the Elektron forum figured this out and posted it. This is what i came up with...

It's a fairly static pattern. I just muted/unmuted some of the tracks and the CTR Machine track. Muting that track on the steps that are locked open will lock the effect on. Yielding some nasty feedback =o]
