One week and one internet fluke later, here comes a brand new edition of your beloved show. As always, I am really happy about the music to be on this edition, a mix of good old friends and brand new names. Well, I have been quite lucky otherwise, had some nice little vacation with my wife and started a new job with cool new colleagues. Looking forward to the rest of the year. And wishing all those a heads up who weren't so lucky in the last weeks heavy rainfalls, which was quite close to my place, too. Hope you will all be fine. So this is a let's go forward and good luck edition with fantastic music by Seifert & Steinbüchel (Missions), Michael L. Rogers (Energy Transformation), Ivan Black (The Green Ray), Colin Rayment (Polyphonic Memories), Data Rebel and Martin Nonstatic (Matters Of The Heart), Michael Brückner (Recycled Life), Rupert Lally (Beyond The Night).

These times are so complex and chaotic, it's incredible. Last week I mentioned the storm over Western Germany (which also hit Belgium quiet hard). I did not mention thatmy wife and I were on the way south on the road, when the rain got so strong that I could barely see the next car in front of me. Luckily, we decided to stop and return home. Not all of you were so lucky. For example Bernd "moonbooter" Scholl, who suffered quite some loss. If you like to support, buy at MellowJet's bandcamp page, which will also support the artists of the label. Well, also a bit "chaotic", at least style-wise, comes tonight's edition of syndae. Hope you will enjoy this mix with tracks by moonbooter (Beyond the Neon Lights), Wellenfeld (The Journey of Voyager 1), Anna B. May (Awareness), mōshonsensu (Solemn Grandeur), Static Dreamscapes (Ayni Despacho), Caballero (Soul Sparkle), Johannes Linstead (Bohemian Strings), Lisa Gerrard and Jules Maxwell (Burn), Congas Atlas (Congas Atlas), Erik Wøllo (Winter Tide: Live at SoundQuest Fest 2021).

It's been a not too busy week, with so many people being on vacation these days. But it is always a good choice to have some rather peaceful music at hand. Either if one stayed at home, had a workful week, or being far away and relishing the scenery. Ok, it's not the most serene edition you heard on syndae, as I could not resist to throw in some beats. But that's the fun of it, isn't it? Having 60 minutes of drifting and lifting music with turns and twists in between. But listen for yourself and join me with great tracks by Ambiente Solstice (Abandoned Peace), Seifert & Steinbüchel (Missions), Klangzaun, Jon Durant & Stephan Thelen (Crossings), Ivan Black (Optophone), Gonzini Gonz (The Cousin Silas Emporium Members Project Volume 16), Joerg Dankert (Restore Faith), Mark Seelig (The Disciple’s Meditation).

Since short after the start, several of the cool tracks on syndae come from netlabels. They have been around for quite some while now, providing a platform for independent artist to publish and distribute their music. Most times, these netlabel offerings are free or name your price albums, so you can usually give what you think the music is worth. And it definitely is worth something. The quality of many of those releases are really good and the music spans various genres, so it never gets boring. On the 14th of July they celebrate Netlabel Day. Quite a bunch of publications from Netlabels on this day. And tonight, we feature a fitting collection of them. Enjoy an hour of diverse tunes by Mad Steppers & Dubsezion (Dub Free Vol. 8), Olympic (For the Sea), Terranigma & dvidevat (Access Frame: Monstrosity), Sonny Monk (Time is Art), tinarao & Better than matter & 5.45 (Netlabel Day 2021), Mr. Hoosteen ft. Beca Jon & STEB (To All Our Friends & Family), Tomoroh Hidari (The Reinterpretation of Dreams).

There is some tunnel at the light of the end.. erm... or something like it. So I have seen some live music festivals being planned for the next months for the music we love. Not that it always holds, as one already has been cancelled. But some smaller events are coming up, like tiny concert series at the Güterhallen in Solingen, where Stefan Erbe will play life this Sunday (if the weather holds) and Martin Stürtzer the week after. And then there is the second installment of the empulsiv online festival coming up on 3rd of September. Ok, not real-live but live on video, where you will experience fresh music by Däcker, Dayflight, Pete Farn, Rene van der Wouden, Skoulaman, Suriya, and Stefan Erbe. Three of those are on tonight's edition. But there is more great stuff celebrating the golden age of electronic music with tracks by Peter Mergener (Astronaut), Chronotope Project (Gnosis), Jim Ottaway (Threshold Of The Universe), Lisa Bella Donna (Moogmentum), Michael Brückner (Recycled Life), Stefan Erbe (Selectronisch Vol. 1), Däcker (Pareidolia), René van der Wouden (Electronic Improvisations on Shimmer Winter Days).

So this was a rather busy week. How was yours? What a nice coincidence that I planned for a quieter edition of syndae tonight. Yes, time to relax a bit with beautiful melodic tracks, just what I need after an exciting week. And there are some really cool tunes in for the 60 minutes. Brand new stuff not even released yet as well as excellent music from earlier this century. Last week we had the golden times, which also are refering to musical styles from the past. Maybe it's the theme for this show. Or maybe not. We'll hear next week. But for now, let's relish outstanding tracks by Mark Isham & Michael Whalen (myndstream Collection Volume 1), Will Ackerman & Jeff Oster & Tom Eaton (Brothers), Ciro Hurtado (Luna), ELEON (Crossover), Клет (АЛКОНАВТ (Alconaut)), Ivan Black (The Green Ray), Bekki Williams (Shadow of the Wind), Andreas Baaden (Slow Down), Bernd Kistenmacher (Antimatter).

Another week gone, and I barely remember it. Looking at my calendar, it was quite a busy week. But it does not feel like it. Strange. However, when my calendar says so, there can only be one choice in music... err... which is either ambient or dance-ish. Ok, well, last week it was all about relaxation, this week we will treat the body with some beats. Which is very fitting, as I just compiled a track list that fits my requirements. How accidental. Oh, and then there is a live festival coming up in Fulda, Germany. If you are interested and can make it, simply go for a trip. It's several days the week from September 10th. Take your pick. I have a teaser track amongst the fine music tonight, which features music by Gabriel Le Mar (Into Sonic States), Crennwiick (The World's Recreation), CAIN & Tomchilla (Santosha), Caballero (Soul Sparkle), Dusk Horizon (El Golfo), Flavio Deff aka Dj Home (Onde Elettroniche), DJ_Iterate (FOURTH WORLD IS - Jon Hassell Tribute), Oriom / 70db (Venus Void).

It's the dream of many people from western states: riding the Trans-Siberian Express. It's quite a journey, usually starting in Moscow running all along Southern Russia, sometimes touching China, over to Krasnojarsk far east. Actually, asking local people using this train, they do not understand how one can ride it "for fun". It's not the most comfortable journy and takes days from one end to the other. The view, though, is partially stunning and very unusual for western people. And, of course, it's kind of an adventure travelling this route seemingly forever. Now, on tonight's special edition I present the latest compilation by Legacy of Thought, focusing on this railway line. Here you will get tracks by Cosmic Cadence, AndAWan, Talking to Ghosts, Wane of Summer, Tolubai, Big Beech, BlauDisS and K37. Furthermore, you will get additional tracks from the past by Johan Agebjörn (The Mountain Lake) and Tangerine Dream (Views From A Red Train).

As most of you well know, from time to time I simply love some quieter sessions to shut me down from the world. There definitely were some gruelling days this week, so it's well earned, too. So here we go. And it's not just any choice of serene music, but some of the best I had on the show yet. As always, recent, current and upcoming releases are waiting to be heard by you. Joii me for some excellent time out with music by Jim Ottaway (Threshold Of The Universe), Cousin Silas (Dreamsville), Frore & Shane Morris (Horizon), Oceanographer (Nectar), City of Dawn & Sherry Finzer (Solace), Wellengärtner (Route To Harmony), Time Away and Progeny -1 (Trans-Siberian Express), EISENLAGER (In·s·tal·la·ti·on).

One of the craziest weeks for me just ends. Which needs quite some room for my brain to be readjusted and freed from the common. Nothing better to do so than having some sounds and beats from the more experimental corners of electronics. And it's always very entertaining and thrilling to follow rather unusual paths in music and sound design standing and newer artists come up with. Rest assured that we are not drifting off too far and the music is still well listenable and within the range of syndae. And so are the artists, most of which where on syndae before in one or the other constellation. Enjoy a suspenseful hour with music by 4T Thieves (Fame is an Addiction), Gašper Torkar (Accept the Risk and Continue), Brainquake feat. Humanfobia (Excess Denied), Sonic Research Society (Drifting Forward), Zyklus (Stimulacra), Mixtaped Monk (Kaleidoscopic Desires), Steve Hadfield (Industrial Chillout Complex), Andy Morello (Modular Cuisine), m00m (Sun Rise), Mitoma (Fragments).

The thrill is on

We are getting sequential tonight. Which is actually nothing else than doing things one after the other. Maybe repeatedly so. If you think about an engine of a machine, it also is all about repetition of the same sequence. Over and over again. Well, it's not the same, because in music, such sequences in a song evolve over time. They take a while to build up, they vary more or less over the song's story, to finally fade out and release. And there are so many variations of beautiful sequences that one can fill an epoch with great music. Like tonight, where it is only 60 minutes but full of outstanding golden age inspired music by fantastic artists like VoLt (Schallplatte 24), Thaneco (Journey to Ithaca Vol.2), Wellengärtner (Sequential Meditation), Martha Rabbit (Phonolith), Baltes & Erbe (Four Stories), Daniel & Booth (Circle Of Phenomenon).

Life is definitely not straight forward. Sometimes, things get broken and the mess lies right in front of you. The important thing is to accept the inevitable and find your way through. Even if it requires to clean up the mass or live with it. For this edition, I was not sure where to head with the selection of music. Most of the tracks will have a chill-out touch, some might be more quiet or wilder. So it's sure one short excerpt of a lifespan, which takes you to different paths now and then. Capture your thoughts and let the music take you where you need it to. Have a great listen to music by Wouter Kellerman & David Arkenstone (Pangaea), The Great Northern (Nocturnes), ToXyGeNeDK (Schallplatte 24), Gabriel Le Mar (Into Sonic States), Roberto Sass (X:Hale), Stan Dart (MurInsel Vol. 4), Eonlake (Sublimation Epoch), Kevin Keller (Shimmer), Lisa Hilton (Transparent Sky), Dr Lum (Fourth World Is).

Life is made up of many options that present themselves on its way. You can definitely choose between those options. Not everytime it's a free choice, though. And while one might try to cherry-pick the path to take, it often only is a tip of the ice-berg waiting for you beyond the obvious. So one could think of life to consist of steps to be mastered. Some lighter ones, some steeper ones. People might say that everything is going to be fine in the end. Well, it does not have to be. But there is no easy way out. No, there is not. And there is no way to know, if a choice is good or bad until you walk its way. Yep, life is a challenge. Cherries you pick may be sweet or sour. Well, not regarding the music you pick to listen to. I did some cherry picking for tonight's edition, and you are welcome to join me for some great tunes by Sven Phalanx (Klangtherapie Remix), Vangelis (Juno to Jupiter), Martha Rabbit (Phonolith), Ivan Black (Bone Machine), D-Fried (Eleventh Listen), Brioskj (One Synth II), Stereo Hypnosis (Hvolf), Boys Of Tomorrow (So It Begins), Stefan Erbe (Comfort'sone).

Are you one of those humans who have to live in exciting times and need full action to feel alive? Or are you the more quiet one who definitely longs for serene moments? Well, maybe it's a mix of both where the mix not necessarily has to be centered. Like in music, where one's ears enjoy displacements of sounds and instruments so that a song does not simply sound mono. For me, the excitement mix level definitely is more on the dry side, rather peaceful than anything else. And sometimes, it is great to leave all the thrill behind and head out for your own, alone or in company, to relish life and nature. Tonight's edition is more on the dry side as well, which definitely does not make the music boring, I tell you that. So join me for some great 60 minutes with music by Gleisberg & Scholl (Culture And Spirit), Divine Matrix (Celestial Phenomena. Soundscapes Vol. 3), Ian Boddy (Nevermore), Ivan Black (Gloria Planetarium), Kelly David (Illusive), Desu ExSounds (Figments), jarguna & Ryuzen (Kitsune), Everling (ad hoc).

I admit, I was intreagued to do a Halloween special, as it is totally the time. But, for once, I am not so much into it, and second, all the Halloween music just is about to be published these days. Like a big compilation coming up via Aural Films, which you might want to check out this weekend. Or, if you don't, I might have some of the music on the show next week or so. By the way, are you watching Squid Game? I don't. But seems their costumes are quite a thing for Halloween this year. Jump suits and frying baskets as masks. Does not sound like something I'd want to wear. What I want to hear, though, is music like the tracks on tonight's edition. Great stuff by Eonlake (Sublimation Epoch), Roberto Sass (X:Hale), Steen Chorchendorff Jorgensen (Clouds Drifting in Time), Stefan Erbe and Guido Negraszus (Schallplatte 24), Joerg Dankert (Beyond), Dynatron (Origins), Ivan Black (Bone Machine), Feralia Planitia (Feralia Planitia), Keerd (Lost in a Daydream), Michael Brückner (The Crossing of Zone 3).
