Re: VSE 'Fictional Cop Theme' Challenge - VOTING ENDS WEDNESDAY!
Just a couple of days to go - voting ends on Wednesday 16th. I'll reveal who did what when the winner is announced.
It's still very close, but a lot can happen in a couple of days, especially with MORE VOTING!!!

+1 for Erotic Couch - reminds me a bit of early Faust guitar work.

Re: VSE Challenge - CS_TBL, Instrument Panel & mcomeg WIN!!
the gear that i used:
the complete project has been handled within the mpc1000 with jj os2 on board.
- the keys are from a NORD MODULAR
- drums are samples played with the MPC
- the BASS is a mother of cheap brand
- sweeps at the beginning is done with the help of a KP3
- the voice is done with a OLD TELEPHONE MIC, thru the KP3 as the first preamp, then inside a BOSS VT-1

Re: VSE Challenge - CS_TBL, Instrument Panel & mcomeg WIN!!
Thanks to all who listened to and voted for "Law and Disorder".
Instruments used were:
Ensoniq SD1 (bass & percussion)
Roland JV1080 (electric piano)
Alesis Ion ("Moog Prodigy" lead)
E-mu Vintage Keys (Mellotron)
Sound effects are courtesy of WIM and martypinso at The Freesound Project ( http://www.freesound.com ).
The instruments were sequenced in the SD1 and recorded into Audacity on my computer. Sound effects and my cheesy monologue introduction were sliced and diced and mixed in Audacity as well. My son gave some much needed creative input on the monologue (Thanks, David!). MP3 created by Audacity.....not very well either, sorry, folks. I finished the project in a hurry and had some levels a bit hot. However, it was fun to do and I hope you found it that way as well.
Congratulations to the winners and thanks to all who entered.

Re: VSE Challenge - CS_TBL, Instrument Panel & mcomeg WIN!!
Thanks for listening! "The Erotic Couch" used:
Minimoog Voyager (including the noise source to make it sound scratchy)
Korg Microkorg
Fender Telecaster through a Boss ME-50
Music Man Sterling Bass through the Moog filter
Reason 3.0
As the title suggests, this is in fact the theme song for a smutty (although not actually p*rn) movie coming out in October. But as several of you mentioned, there is a thin line between cop themes and p*rno themes. My instruction from the director was to make it sound like pre-funk/disco exploitation soundtrack music. Here's a trailer, although it's in 3-D, so you might want to brake out your 3-D glasses (it's probably not work safe, but as in the movie, there are no actual naughty bits shown):
