I did a little DW8000 demo ^.^

forgot to put this on here, these were some of the patches i made (mostly from scratch though there are a few tweaked presets) to show off some of the cool things this underrated synth can do. it was my first synth with a real VCF so i was really excited!

Nice demo elmosexwhistle. You did a really good job on those patches. I've had my DW8000 since the 80's and I still find a place for it in my music to this day.
And then she said, "What the f...?"

thanks for the kind words guys, im really digging this synth, you can do really slow insanely resonant filter sweeps on it and something weird happens, i love it.

It sounds so good thanks to the advanced digital effect processor. What is that?

the "digital effects processor" on the DW is basically a digital modulated delay that you can use either as, a delay (well duh!) a chorus, or flanger, i've even got a cool phaser sound out of it, you can do good things trying to sync the lowpass LFO to the rate of the flanger!
i'm waiting on another midi cable i ordered online but as soon as i get it i'll post some sysex.

This is the deal. I used to use it with my DW-6000.

i might have a look at sysex next week, i've been just programming from the front panel at the moment, compared to my old DX7, it's a breeze!
Re: I did a little DW8000 demo ^.^
Nice Sounds! I also use to programm it just through the front panel without trouble, this baby has a very special place in my heart:)
Re: I did a little DW8000 demo ^.^
This is incredible!
I would say the majority of people who hate on the DW 8000 are expecting fat, raw leads and basses out of the box when this is really a 'bells-and-whistles' kind of synth.

Too futurist to live.

This is good stuff! These DW synths are still quite underrated. I actually was able to acquire my P-5 mostly based on the merits/similarities the DW-6000 had to it. How's that for an endorsement?

Great demo! Very charismatic and underrated synth..
I have the EX-8000 and am quite fond of many of it's quirks. I like to route both the aftertouch and pitchstick from my Nord to the filter then crank the resonance and you can do some pretty impressive playing of just filter parameters.
Add some of the built in delay and its a sound totally worth what these things are fetching. I like the polyphonic portamento too.
