I'd recommend trying to find an Ensoniq DP-4, it's a rack unit but has an amazing variety and quality of effects for the price. It's nice and weird too. The Eventide Timefactor is amazing, my favourite pedal by far. Costs more than your average pedal but is worth it for what it can do. The Yamaha E1010 is the best analogue delay I've ever used (there are a few that I'd still like to try though) but again it's a rack.

here are two more tracks up - i would love feedback on them as well; they are what i've really been wanting to move most of my attention to once the piano/strings stuff is finished, and i think i might put my electro dance stuff on hold in favor of working on this style.
its basically a microkorg, yamaha motif 8 and acoustic drums. i recorded the two drums tracks about a year before i did anything with them - they were just for fun one late night, just to play around with the drum mics. the more i listen the more i like, so i'm thinking if i can find a MOTU unit for my mac at a good price i'll start working on this stuff a lot more seriously since that'll give my drums a better sound.
StabFrenzy - I'd love to see what you think of these as well since you're doing something similar with the recorded noises and drums...

I've added a new track to my soundcloud - its the very first time i've ever written/recorded a jazzy or r'n'b type track. its all done with an axiom 25 and garageband.
Ghost Fires - As if to Unwind
I would love to receive feedback of any kind on what you guys think...i enjoy it, but can't really tell if anyone else would!
