Peaks - Stolen Moment

Post by el pr0n » Wed May 04, 2011 6:16 pm

Hey there,

I play (guitar, keys, computer) in a band called Peaks. We're mostly a alternative rock-type band, going more and more electronic as our wallets allow... At the moment our electronic instruments are limited to recordings since we don't have giggable interfaces or cases for keyboards.

But here's a track we just finished mixing a little while ago, if anyone fancies having a listen;

All the production is done in Ableton Live with instruments and effects from Suite 8.

I'd love to hear what anyone thinks of it :)

Thanks very much! We're working on the 'more' part, most of us have exams on soon so band work is taking a backseat for two weeks or so. But I've got a few months of writing and programming and production lined up for after my exams :D

Great! Can't really elaborate, I just thoroughly enjoyed that.

Things like the bass guitar harmonics are really refreshing to my ears. So, please don't go fully electronic 100% of the time.

I don't really have much interest in going 100% electronic. As much as I love a lot of all electronic music, sometimes I feel like it loses a kind of connection, which I don't want to risk.

And yeah, our bass player brought that one up all sheepishly, "Guys, I have an idea for a new tune..." *plays harmonic bassline*, we were all speechless afterwards :p
