MOOG LIBERATION transposing by recalibration? price?

Post by baseykenjamin » Sat Dec 30, 2017 4:52 pm

Hi there!

I have a question about the MOOG LIBERATION / vintage synths with a limited Range in General.

On the Liberation, per Default, the lowest playable note on OSC 1 (low F on keyboard) is around 43 Hz. (the owners Manual refers to this as "Reference Frequency for low F (32') : 43.65 Hz. This is of course far from sub-bass-territory. But i wanna go there, obviously.

Is it possible to recalibrate the whole thing, so that the whole synth sounds an octave lower? Is this even possible without having to modify/solder stuff, thus decreasing the instrument's value?

I would of course ask a technician to do this procedure...

Ah, and is 2.8k USD too much for a Liberation in mint condition?

Thanks a lot, cheers!
