KORG DW-8000 help

Post by Merman » Fri Nov 06, 2020 12:44 am

Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone could give me a hand here?

I have a Korg DW-8000 here that I got for next to nothing because it was in poor shape. It made no sound and half of the buttons didn't work. I got it to a point where nearly everything is working, except that now, every note played is the same pitch. The noise generator seems to scale up in pitch, but the oscillators seem to play what sounds like a middle C on every key. I've checked with midi and it does the same.

I've loaded the patches VIA sysex, but not tape, although I don't think that would cause this issue.

I appreciate the responses in advance! Thanks :)

The RAM in these gets corrupted and can mess everything up. Bit of a pain to deal with. Chicken and egg situation.

Can you get the service manual? Do you own an oscilloscope, a logic analyser and a multi-meter?

Thanks for the reply! I only have a multimeter- no logic analyser or oscilloscope. So far everything is finally checking out in terms of continuity.
Is there anything I can do with what I have?
