Record Midi Automation from Synth Knob

Hi, first of all sorry for my english and for my lack of knowledge but i'm from italy and i'm not an expert in using Synths.
A friend of mine rented me two synths for a work that i have to do and i would like to know how i can sync my the two synths (a Prohpet 6 desktop and a Novation A-Station) with my daw.
i'm using a Komplete Kontrol 88 as my master keyboard and i would like to record midi automation from the knobs of the two synths so that i can adjust midi clips before sending them to the synths again for recording the audio. Thanks in advance

-- Check the manuals for the synths to make sure that sending controller data over MIDI is enabled.

-- Connect the synths to your DAW using whatever MIDI interface you have.

-- Anything you do with the knobs while recording your playing will be recorded.

-- If you want to add as automation later, check the manual about how to enable automation on your DAW and twist the knobs while the DAW plays.

Thanks, i'm using Pro tools and a Steinberg UR44C, so if data transfer over midi is enabled and i just plug the exit of the midi chain in the input of the interface i will record midi automations from the knobs of the two synths right?

Yes, the MIDI will pass from the synths through the Steinberg into Pro Tools.
