vintage drum machine maintenence - need advice

Post by sky_line » Fri Jul 06, 2007 4:45 am

Hello there. I just bought a 606 used, plays great, sounds great and i'm very happy with it. I just wanted to know if you guys had any tips on how to maintain the aesthetics of the drum machine, i.e. any cleaning solutions? preventing sticky buttons? or maintenence in general? I live in the L.A. area, so if anybody knows any specialists that they can recommend to me, that'd be great. Thanks for the help. :)

Dont use any alcohol based cleaners (will dissolve the paint), use something mild like simple green. Tack switches are easily replaced so if the ones you have are worn, dont bother trying to clean them out
