Red Sound Darkstar output mod

I'm thinking about attempting it, but first, I'd like to know if anyone here's tried it or knows anyone who has.
My main questions: which audio transformers did you use? would you be able to clarify a couple of the steps for me? and was the difference as much as this guy makes it out to be?

Had a look at it rapidely.

One question arise: why do you wanna do that? You've got the XP2, right? It comes with 1/4" output jacks nor RCA. Or am I senile?

I did this Mod to the First Version of the Darkstar. The Latest version has more outputs so I do not know if there is sufficent room to install the transformers inside the unit, like I did on mine.

Now, I think that might be a bit over the top, but if it does half of that, then I'd be up for it. The XP2 is supposed to have especially weak output...

There is other ways that add audio transformers, mod-wise.

But you can add low-end by outboard FX, filter and such. Like a good mixer. You can fix that weakness in production.

That mod is for the original darkstar, not the XP2, no? The XP2 output is not really weak, just a bit noisy in my experience.
