The problem can be many things actually.

The lights are no indication and can be misleading. They take their source from the PSU. And since the lights needs very little power to light up, the PSU can be almost dead and the light will light up anyway.

Is there something audible in the output? or nothing at all?

The problem(s) can be:

1) Bad PSU: Must be revised completely.
2) Bad filtering caps throughout the synth
3) key component failure
4) etc

If you have some electronic knowledge, you can grab a multimeter and start testing out. Otherwise, it's recommended to see a tech so that no further damages can be inflicted by inproper testing/servicing.

ok..heres what i noticed. sometimes when i let it stay on for a while, it would come on where i could play it, then it starts getting kind of garbled sounding. i dont know too much about keyboards repairs, but i was thinking tha it could be a power supply issue. do you do these kinds of repairs?

It sure is tricky to troubleshoot from a distance but it seems like a PSU problem (and a few other things too).

I repair about every synths under the sun, analogs and digitals, with all kind of problems. So yes, your Jupiter is welcomed.

If you send it to me, please go to the Muzik Elektronix website and fill out a work order form and return it with the synth.
