MMT-8 click is gone

Post by Alex E » Tue Aug 28, 2007 5:41 am

It went away very recently- I checked all the settings and its set to on. Even if I use the click out all I hear is a faint popping sound. Also, the display is usually garbled for about half a second as I turn it on, too. Whats wrong?? :?
I can't use it without the click... :(

Sound like a transistor in the click output module is giving up.

For the LCD, have you checked the connections inside? Could be one of the ICs... or of course, the PSU.

Thanks, I opened it today, and the speaker is slightly torn, and there is solder coming off one of the wires. If I fix it and it still doesn't work I'll look at that output module.
I don't think I'm really worried about the screen right now because the problem always goes away immediately.
