CMU-800R - computer controlled MC-4/MC-8 ?

Post by gilwe » Mon Sep 10, 2007 9:51 am

I came across a Roland CMU-800R sealed in a box, never used.

I'm trying to find what can I use it for.

- Can I drive 8 external CV/Gate based synths with software sequencer ?
How usable it the software for this purpose anyway ?

- Are there any mods for this unit so you can make it more usable as a TR-606 / TB-303 sound maker ?

You'll need an Apple II otherwise it's pretty much useless unless you mod it in some way. There's some info on a midi mod here Dunno if it's still availble.
