i have figured out how to modify existing programs, and save them, but i would like to know how to start a program from scratch. saving it over an existing program is not a problem.

thank-you very much

If there's no procedure to "initialize" a patch, you have to do it yourself. Simply disable all the LFO routings, set the filter to bypass or set the cutoff to max, only enable 1 oscillator with sawtooth or pulse, reset all coarse/fine tuning and disable the effects. Then save this in a remote location you're not prone to overwrite quickly - like the last preset in the bank - and you're done.
"Part of an instrument is what it can do, and part of it is what you do to it" - Suzanne Ciani, 197x.
