RESET AND OS PROBLEMS WITH YAMAHA RS7000

Post by everts76 » Sat Nov 24, 2007 3:15 pm

hi there! i'm not an expert, yamaha rs7000 is my first groovebox-sampler. i've bought it few days ago used and i'd like to reset the machine to the original sound and functions to make it mine and to cancel modifies of the first owner. this is the question, resetting the machine i will lose the new OS installed and come back to the first and old OS or it still remains the new one? (i've no midi ports in computer to reinstall the latest OS) and if it's like this, how can i do to replace the new one?
thanks a lot everybody!!

I dont have an RS, but do have and RM1x so they should be similar. Reseting mine just cleared the user slots and any other system mods, it did nothing to the OS. I might be different with the sampler though since they usually don't rom samples so those may be gone for good

load the os on to the flash card things and load them. you don't need midi.

i think the os is on the yamaha site. if not it is in one of the yahoo groups.

enjoy the machine. i miss mine.
