Part of buying synths is overpaying for the occasional synth. It is a lesson learned that, for the most part, every one participates in.

The second part of that lesson is learning to move past that and enjoy the synth, learning it and creating music. Then the money you spent on it really doesn't matter...

£550 methinks is a little pricey for a Nord 1 (without the voice expansion card I presume) but if it’s in top condition then its worth keeping it that way as a collectors item if nothimg else. Some folk prefer the sound of the original NL1 as it’s filters sound a little richer and lo-fi.

£250-350 would be more the kinda price expected for a Nord 1 but you don’t see as many around for sale like NL2’s.

I bought a mint Nord Modular rack for £250 (+ £20 p&p) a couple of months ago on the bay tho I did take a risk with a first time seller which thankfully paid off.

I'm a complete new guy when it comes to synths. But i just bought a Nord Lead 1 for £550 on ebay. There were over 25 bids and I just won it. I'm just wondering if I paid far too much, I know I paid a bit more than I should have done but is 550 way over the recommended price?

The synth is in amazing condition with no marks/breakages.

If you could put my mind to rest I'd be greatful...thanks
don't worry about it newone. It's a very useable synth & you haven't really lost much.

.....maybe you did pay say £100 or so too much but in an auction in that moment you paid exactly the right amount. Its a great keyboard you should enjoy it. It totally is dont worry about what you read in the forums.

1 man's trash is another mans treasure. theres tons of synths i wouldnt pay d**k for. and yet i dropped almost 5 grand on an analog synth a month or two ago. most people would consider me insane, but its worth it to me, so IT WAS WORTH IT.

when you go to sleep at night, make sure you were clicking the RIGHT keys that day. its just the net, its just opinions, you didnt get burned. you bought a synth for money and it showed. go jam!
Yep.

I don't know about taxes into the UK but just to rub it in; you could've bought a re-boxed but new Lead 2X for much the same price.

Enjoy it though, it should be a bucket of fun nonetheless.
