Yep. My MKI usually has a string synth on top. The rounded top isn't a perfect fit but it can hold an old italian synth easily.gfriden wrote:I really love my Rhodes. It's a MK II, and the great thing about it is that its designed to fit a synth or other small keyboard on top of it. Lovely sound. Get one, you won't regret it!
I don't think I'll ever get rid of my rhodes but I want a 200a so bad it about makes me cry. I've contemplated selling my Baldwin Harpsichord to get an LP and a 200a. But I just know I'll regret it.
On the topic of the CP70/80. I've decided that next time I see one I'm going to rob a bank to get the cash. A guy sold one local here on ebay and it only went for ~$1000 because shipping was something like $300.
I wish I had cash...
I have a CP30 (wannabe rhodes/whurly)...it's a cool sound but it's not the same. When I finally land a 200a the CP30 will vanish.

oh yea
I have a suitcase 73 and I LOVE IT I have all kinds of synths and software stuff that does an okay job but the real deal is the BEST I don't hump it around anymore (It is damn heavy, and 2 pieces) but at home just to play or record it is awesome.mine has the older square shape bladed plug from the keys to the amp cab and thats a pain in the butt as mine is getting kinda shabby and the plug is hard to find. many years ago I took the 2 12 inch Jensens out of the cabinet and had them reconed while this was going on I put a pair of HH invaders (what Laney amps use I got them from a destroyed vc30 212) and I like the sound so much I have left the HH's in and the reconed Jens are in one of my bassman amps the sound of the Fender/Rhodes is spectacular the reason I bought mine is I saw Dennis DeYoung(STYX) using one so I got one about 1981 or so it was already used but great (I also got my Yamaha cp30 because of Dennis and the cp35 because of Elton,I know dirty copycat) They are all awesome boards the Rhodes is my favorite mechanical board its easier to maintain and sounds terriffic
Oh yea and the cp35 is cool because its kinda a wannabe synth and if you own a yamaha cs70m and the cable you can connect(sadly i don't)them which sounds like it would be fun
