Today I bought an Akai X7000 sampler, Cosmetically it's fantastic and fires up a treat but the drive belt for the disk drive had perished so I ordered up a replacement which arrived just before Christmas.
Anyway got the thing home, opened the lid, took out the drive, fitted the belt the motor span for a few seconds and then the thing just locked up... The problem appears to be connected with a metal plate under the drive system and appears to move the heads. Any ideas?
