Picked up the MuRf 105 recently, but now wondering if the bass version would be better suited for the Voyager. I always seem to second guess purchases in regards to their applications. Im also running my Prophet 8 thru it. Very pleased with its overall tone but figured the bass MuRf would have a thicker more resonant response. Who else is using one? And do any of you have opinions of which is the better way to go?

I remember reading(poss. here
) that the regular murf was more mathematic/quantized in its automations whilst the bass murf was more rhythmic/ grooved sounding. They are both great- I opted for the regular murf as I usually keep my bass-lines clean and out of the effects chain and would be using it mostly w/ synths and guitar. Its very cool on vocals btw, and very useful as a non-automated filter bank. Hope this helps a bit.

I made that mistake and I weep!
Still have the murf but one thing irks me.
I can actually hear the thing in operation from the box.
Seems to occasionally bleed into my other sources.
Anyone else notice this?
i find the murf to be a super analogue EQ when not being modulated.

Fortunately the Honeymoon does'nt end, I highly recommend getting a non-latching pedal for taping tempo and an expression pedal(the Moog Ep-2 is pretty badass) to really get into it. I have been really happy w/ it and a wah lately.amatsov wrote:I recieved my bass murf and as an addition to all other things it does it really is an amazing filterbank!
move the sliders for a sound you like and with a drive button you can make the sound overdrive.really sweet!

I have both a regular MuRF and a Bass MuRF, and by combining them in series along with another pedal that does tap tempo, and in particular, something with patterns like the Empress Trem, you can get some really tasty rhythms going that are sparse enough to layer in a musical way.
