Akai S20 disk format error

just picked up an S20 and the little guy's giving me an "errd" error message every time i try to format a floppy. using brand new imation 2hd floppy disks. any suggestions?

Hey, I am having the same problem, any advice for how to improve my situation? I have replaced the floppy drive and tried with several brands of discs, is there a trick to getting it to work?
