the last time i used it before now ("working before") i experienced a weird error on the screen (and i can't remember what the lcd read, but it was something like ERROR) and after i loaded up a single patch from the software everything fixed itself.
i tried again this morning and midi messages didn't seem to trigger sounds at all but when i loaded up self sequencing patches they played the way they should have.
the only thing new in my setup is the fact that i just got an iMac, so i am using the beta editor instead of the windows editor. i dont see any similar problems with the OSX editor over on electro-music.com
i think i am going to try reloading the OS when i get home. i also just got a larger midi interface in the mail today, so i should be able to try more routing posibilites and insure that the midi signals are going to the right place via software with the MOTU xt express.
i will relay an update after said OS reload attempt.

i have been working in OS 3.03 since i bought it, but the editor i use now is the OSX beta version (the only OSX editor), i am planning on reinstalling OS3.03, are you suggesting otherwise ?*wiss wrote:if I recall correctly, you dont use the editor for older OS's. I would just try to reboot with the orginal, older system.
*i am not sure if this sounds rude or not, because i just had an interaction with a professor that makes me think i am in need of a polite calibration, but i am just trying to understand what you just said, not be an a*s asking you in any way.

wiss it is the beta version, i hadn't heard stories about people having problems with it but i guess if it continues to be a problem i can boot camp to xp. i remember back in the OS10.2 and before days there used to be a classic mode, is that still available? i kind of doubt it.
anyways, i downloaded the OS3.03 and i thought it would be a simple sysex load from live and it turns out i need to open a "classic file" and OSX doesn't do that.
c**p. can i load my mac in classic mode or do i need to load the OS from a PC? (i would also be open to a patch that makes this work in OSX but im feeling doubtful)

update: i brought the old PC back into the room and hooked it up to my NM and rebooted the OS. for some reason there is a problem that still exists for the loaded patch A001 but other than that, so far so good.
i am feeling a little reluctant to go back the the OSX beta editor, but it is a lot more convenient to use the same computer for everything and i would probably end up having to move some c**p around so that the NM was closer to the other computer. has anyone here but wiss experienced problems with the beta editor?
