Olga and Oligarc

Post by MitchK1989 » Mon Apr 14, 2008 9:42 pm

Two plugins that have caught my eye recently... Both by Schwa...

They're cross platform, which is great.

One is a soviet style synthesizer (there's a hidden switch to add english labels if you can't stand the russian controls)

The other is a modular multi-effect rig called Oligarc (and it includes the phaser, overdrive, and chorus as separate plugins)

Just thought I'd give everyone a heads up.

Thanks for the heads up, I noticed Olga before but didn't realize it's for OSX as well.

probably because it wasn't cross-platform when it first came out.

Oligarc is definitely unique. Since my amp sim of choice (iZotope Trash) doesn't include a million stompbox emu's like the more "conventional" amp sim products do, I've really been on the lookout for phaser/chorus/flanger/whatever plugins. Oligarc looks like it's definitely going to make the cut... The individual stompbox plugs seem great on guitar and the whole modular multi plugin is definitely fun when I want something less conventional.

Olga on the other hand definitely has character, but The interface is a little odd, even with the english labels. I have yet to decide on that one.
