Another Numan "How did he make that sound" questio

Post by bpt114 » Sun May 11, 2008 3:53 pm

I've done a bit of research on here and some other forums but I can't seem to find how Gary Numan made this particular sound:

It is the metallic bass sound from The Pleasure Principle. It is used through the entire album and is most noticeable as the intro to 'Metal'. I know he used all Polymoog and Minimoog on this album + MXR 100 and flanger but what type of effect did he possibly use for that metallic bass? It's such a cool sound that I don't think he used on any other album. Thanks for any inputs!!!

That would be the mini - most likely with distortion and EQ.

Maybe Micke (hey - MICKE!) could shed some light on the exact devices used for processing.
