The JX-305 uses either SmartMedia S2m-5 (2Mb) + S4m-5 (4Mb). Any cards other than Roland's will work.

Not sure I'm following... You mean copy the smartcard to another storage device? Like to CD-R and then back again to the smartcard? (that way preventing to have to buy a lot of smartcards). If so, sure you can do it. You just need a smartcard reader attached to a computer and it's like any other media. Same with other smartcard-like cards. You need a "universal reader-writer" and the appropriate software (usually supplied with the reader-writer).
That gizmo is available in every electronic shops, camero shops, etc.
