Re: A Great Big Pile Of Acid!
Ok, I take it back...after messing with it...there is a lot to do with these without high res... with the filter cutoff completely turned down and the res only slightly up and using higher octaves, short decay etc, not much accent...you get these really light notes with some warm static... completely something I did not expect from a 303. Very happy.

YEAH!, maybe something like this glorious piece of art-mome rath wrote:disagree, but thank god someone is getting one of these to NOT make goa tranceJSRockit wrote:No way, just because you aren't making stereo-typical acid doesn't mean you can't use some high res... if you don't want that high res you are better off with a different synth and a mobius IMHO.

Acidic 303 drenched ambient down tempo mind phuk :offtheair:
Re: A Great Big Pile Of Acid!
I just posted up a video/track that has 3 acid lines in it, nothing crazy tho... from the comments, some would say "boring"
but there aren't any stolen deadmau5 loops or unplugged MIDI controllers to be found!

Ripe, that was awesome! Not boring at all. I guess the negative comments on the Matrixsynth site are from people that don't enjoy old Plastikman style techno. What is the Revolution doing? I see you tweaking it, but the video description does not list it along with the 909, MD, Virus, and Octopus.

Ah, yeah, I forgot to add it in the description, it's playing the mid-bass sound if that makes sense.Suburban Bather wrote:Ripe, that was awesome! Not boring at all. Thx! you should definitely get the Octopus, if you are at the same place I was, it was a real boost of creativity. It works exactly the way I need, it makes composition a joy!StepLogik wrote:

Not bad, however it does sound a bit static, the track needed subtle changes going on throughout it, and the main acid line needs to be tweaked every so often. Hawtin always makes those subtle ever shifting changes in his tracks, sometimes you notice them and sometimes you don't.
But anyway i think he's done with his trademark sound and moved onto that stuff he does now and his non-stop DJ'ing.

nice one ripe
maybe a little too similar to "Korridor" from Artifacts (BC) album, but hey, as long as it sounds good
by the way, I've a big fan of your youtube videos since the 777+MD only track, that one is VERY good
I need to make some of that plastik musik soon (damn exams)

Re: A Great Big Pile Of Acid!
well, the x0x is said to sound quite like a 303... whereas the acidlab comes close, but u can hear some differences in my opinion (especially concerning the saw wave). i also feel the acidlab sounding much louder than the 303, and i kinda have the impression that the acidlab loses less volume and bass with high resonance than a 303...
i guess u have the acidlab bassline 1. i hear in acidlab bassline 2, there is little less resonance to come closer to the original. but my acidlab bassline 2 has 5% more resonance than standard ones...

I couldn't begin to comment on this Trond...there was a two year gap in between me owning the bassline and the x0xb0x. Sorry. All I can say is that I'm happy with the x0xb0x's sound and the ease of the sequencer.TrondC wrote:oh, and JS: how do the xox and Acidlab compare sound-wise?

Re: A Great Big Pile Of Acid!
check the acidlab bassline 2 sequencer. it's great! i almost only use it as cv/gate sequencer... long time since i recorded some acidlab. i almost only need it as sequencer and live for higher pitched leads with 303 as bass...the ease of the sequencer.
