MAM VF11 vocoder - anyone have this, or other MAM gear?

I just picked up one of these cheap, but it didn't come with the AC power adapter. So I have a few questions for anyone who has one.

The manual says 12v 500mA - AC

I guess that means I need an AC->AC adapter, is that correct? (not the typical AC->DC adapter that is used more often here in the U.S.). If anyone has one, could you look on the AC adapter and tell me if it says AC on the "output" spec? Thanks.

I know I can get one at RadioShack, and those come with the interchangeable tips to match the size and +/- tip and ring values. So my next question is, when using a device that accepts AC input, will the positive/negative values of the tip/ring on the connector matter at all? And if it does matter, does it give this info on your original VF11 power supply?

All my MAM stuff is 12VAC. AC to AC adapters are not polarized so it does not matter how the tip is wired

I found the right adapter at Radio Shack today and it works perfectly.
It does not have an interchangeable tip, but luckily it is the right size for the VF11.

First impression: it's awesome!
I only played around with it for about 10 minutes, using my Nord Lead and an SM57 mic.
It sounds great. I'll try to post some sound clips within the next couple of weeks.

I use a spare Alesis AC to AC power supply that I had. It's over specified for the job, but works fine. The radioshack one is far better value.

I've a MAM 1222 line mixer. It's great, extremely low noise floor and no distortion. Transparent. Very well made inside. It's a shame this company went bust, they were very good.

I also have this MAM VF11 vocoder.

With a good basic sound source (analog poly synth, or even better a string machine), you can achieve very correct vocoded sounds. It doesn't have that vibe that a VP-330 have. And is not so detailled like an EMS vocoder. It's an entry level vocoder, but you can tweak it very easily. Much more than most VA integrated vocoders...
