90's House Piano

Post by Adam D » Fri Jan 09, 2009 1:54 pm

I was wondering what synth was used to make that piano sound on most 90's house records. I mean the sound that borders between synthesized and realistic.

I always thought it was a Korg M1 but I've also heard of the Roland D-50 being used.

That seriously cheesy vid has the sound I'm referring to, they are using a D-50 in the video but it sounds more realistic than what I've heard from a D-50, more like what I've heard coming from an M1.

i've always heard the m-1 namechecked the most as the key/signature/go-to/nucleic/essential 90's house piano
