Andromeda: the 'bread and butter' of the analog synths?

Post by japan » Mon Jan 12, 2009 7:11 am

Hi: I was reading some information about the A6, and I'm very interested in the machine. Nostalgia has put the prices of classic Moogs, Oberheims, Sequential and others in the clouds, but I see that the A6 has a very fair price, and has a Moog-Oberheim circuits design, if it's true what I have read...I don't like to use a lot of space with machines, so, the question is: is the A6 a synth to make all kind of analog sounds like the classics could make? I have an OB-X and a Crumar string, so, I wanna have other textures of sounds in my arsenal ( Sequential, Moog, Arp...)

Access synths are not a option...I don't like access synths.

Have a nice 2009

I say get the A6 if you MUST have a fat VCO poly - and don't want the looming maintenance trouble of a 20+ yr old board.
Otherwise, it's an awful lot to take on just to have an analog poly.
Better to get a Juno for instant gratification analog, or venture into Prophet600 and Polysix for VCO territory...
