ENSONIQ ESQ VOICE-80 sound series

Post by synthy » Tue Apr 21, 2009 10:39 pm

Do you know how many sound carts of the ESQ VOICE-80 series were made for this series of Ensoniq sounds for the ESQ-1 and ESQm?
I have carts #1, #2, #3, #4. I know they make a #5 but did they make more after that? i can't find any info on how many were made and what sounds are on them all. Thanks.

Take a look here.
I listened to Hatfield and the North at Rainbow. They were very wonderful and they made my heart a prisoner.

thanks for the reply. i have been to that site before and saw that same list ....:) i don't think they are the same carts as the ones i have unfortunatly. i know there were several makers then so it might be hard to find the sets i have and need. at least i know i need #5 and have seen it before but missed out on it. thanks.

The Syntaur Master Disk is a collection of all the ESQ-1 factory sound carts that I remember. I was under the impression that they had rights to all the original factory patch sets.

Your carts are Ensoniq branded? There were of course carts made by other manufacturers like Voice Crystal, Valhalla, etc.

Synthy, if you're looking for some additional sounds to purchase, I highly recommend these patches from Technosis:
http://www.soundengine.com/html/synth/ensesq1.html

They donated a couple of patches to the Transoniq Hacker (was an independent Ensoniq users group magazine) for publication and they were outstanding. Very creative and from what I can remember about the review of the patches, they were well-suited towards industrial tastes, or at least those of '88-'89.
