Poly 6 is completely dead!
Looking for some help. A couple of years back, I was playing my P6 and all the lights went red in color and the unit will no longer turn on with the power switch. Could this be the KLM 376 board (power supply) that is mentioned in Old Crow's Synth Shop @ oldcrows.net? Thanks for any and all replies! My P6 is in mint condition and would love to play it again. Also, any suggestions as to where you can locate parts for this synth. Thanks!

check psu first!
Re: Poly 6 is completely dead!
Thanks for the help! But I am new at this repair stuff. What did you mean by checking the PSU? Did you mean the Power supply unit ? I am not real good at the abbreviations. Thanks again for any help you can offer!

Re: Poly 6 is completely dead!
yes. check if fuse is ok and if it's ok then try to look if there's proper voltage on psu [+/- 15, 5 etc]

Hi,
There is also a Yahoo! group for P6. There is one particularly kind and knowledgeable member there, who gives a lot of good advice. There are also schematics, etc available.
By the way, it's not just stuck in tape load mode is it? Sorry to ask, but I have been caught by that a couple of times, after not using the synth for ages.
Has your P6 had a battery replacement? These things leak corrosive material all over the control circuit of the machine.
Good luck

Thanks for both the replies from Radek and Oli. I've read about battery leakage and this might be an issue. Also checking the fuse possibility. Will reply when and find out the problem. I think I have found a technician close to my city, and let him tackle the problem since I have little knowledge on repairs. I do know some technician a while back told me he thought it was a chip that is the main brain to the P6. That is why I'm wondering about the 376 board. Thanks again and will try both of these fine suggestions.
