I am referring to a rev 2 p5 i had many years ago...This opera 6 has has ssm vco's even though it has dco writen on it.

Well - it is "DCO driven by VCO" I probably repeat myself, but this is very interesting DCO design. Two SSM2031 VCOs are used as master oscillators for DCOs (instead of crystal oscillator or system clock).

Let's say VDCO....But the osc sound raw like vco's...

A note on recapping...I replace caps on the power supply and any cap that i can change easily (only electro's and tants)

Replacing tants it critical parts makes sense because they fail short circuit, but personally I would avoid replacing an electro that was still working, because (a) there's an increased risk of damaging expensive SSM chips, and (b) life's too short for fixing things that are not broken.

In this case i have left the caps for now...They look ok but i will recap the power supply when i have the time.

Now it's being used in the studio....
