Re: Korg Monotribe ?
Does anyone have any actual confirmation that Korg plans to release the schematics for the monotribe?

Re: Korg Monotribe ?
if its like the monotron for the simpler hacks it won't matter since they labelled the best points on the silkscreen
but it'd definitely speed up the hunting for the drum mod resistors

I hope thats list and not actually store price. I hope they've browsed some internet sites and seen what people are actually willing to pay. Not just on here but on youtube, yahoo, and other message boards I've pretty much seen an overwhelming consensus that $200-$250 would be fair and $150 would be awesome/ wouldn't think twice before buying one. $350 would be pretty close to the break it point for me and I would probable wait and try to find one used (which Im sure many will be floating around once people realize it wont make them moby).

Re: Korg Monotribe ?
400 bucks will buy you a Mopho in Canada, so 350 would lose a lot of the experienced market. For that matter if you get lucky you could probably hunt up a used ER1 and EA1, or perhaps an old version EMX1, for that kind of money and have a much more flexible setup. Talk that the Monotribe is going to sell for 22000 yen in Japan has been floating around, so 175-200 bucks in North America sounds like a likely price.

Re: Korg Monotribe ?
200 is the max i'd pay. after the 200 range, you start to enter the zone of used synths like the jx's, which would be way cooler than a drum-synth that you can't edit the drum sounds of.blackdiscoball wrote:I hope thats list and not actually store price. Re: Korg Monotribe ?
Well, the quote is actually that it will debut in Europe at 240 Euros, which translates roughly to $350. Don't we usually pay less in America since we have no VAT to include in the price?

Re: Korg Monotribe ?
how much would that realistically take off, even if that's just the list price and not street price? i think lowest we're gonna see is 250. but i'd say it's gonna be 300.redchapterjubilee wrote:Well, the quote is actually that it will debut in Europe at 240 Euros, which translates roughly to $350. Well, at the risk of pissing into the f**k wind, which is all that ever happens in threads like this, you can pre-order them here in the UK for £169. I don't give a f**k what that is in $, but I wish you people would stop blowing air about it and just wait. Sheesh.

Re: Korg Monotribe ?
Wow, I'm really surprised that people think $300 is too much for this. In a world where a x0xb0x for $600 is considered a good deal (I sold one I modded for $1600 a few years ago!) even if this is $350 that's pretty good value.
Or is this just the people who b***h about anything just bitching because it helps them explain why they don't make any music with their synths?
