i also have a new pc running windows 7. im not as concerned with this one as the rackmount xp box but if its feasible this would be a keen fix as well.

akai s6000 on windows xp or 7? possible?
i have an akai s6000 with a usb expansion hooked up to my rackmounted windows xp computer. im using cubase as the sample editor and have all the drivers and software including ak.sys. installed. everything else in my arsenal is functional and configured but this akai... none of it works together. the pc sees the akai as being there but the ak.sys is unable to load the front panel emulator and is unable to send info to the pc.

Under XP? yes, a google search can show that. Under win7? not likely.
