What a Fairlight can do

Post by madtheory » Fri Apr 22, 2011 6:10 pm

After an interesting thread on the SOS forum, I put together some quick tests of Fairlight sounds as Kate Bush used them on her album The Hounds of Love. What's interesting is how simple these sounds actually are. The arrangement is everything.

Nice!

They are simple, but powerful and special at the same time. I am more and more impressed with the samples each time I use them. I am also amazed at how naturally punchy the Fairlight drums are.

Ya, I'd like to have maybe just one channel's worth of IIx AD/DA to run things through. It does a cool thing.
