Synth Module to Synth ???

Post by Tommysynth31 » Sun Aug 07, 2011 2:00 am

Hi. I have a Yamaha KX61, but one of my cats knocked it off the second tier of my stand, (about 4 feet up). I have it hooked up to a Roland JV1080 Synth Module. When I tried using it Today, it won't make any sound... even when I reset it to the factory settings. I have other keyboards that have MIDI IN/OUT, but I have no owner's manuals for them. One of them is an Ensoniq Mirage. I wounder If anyone knows If I can just hook up the Roland Module to MIDI OUT to get sounds from it.? If you might have an answer, please let me know. Thanks everyone!

welcome to VSE. plug the mirage midi out to the Roland JV1080 midi in. If they don't work right away, they might be set on different midi channels. The manuals should be online and would tell you how to change the midi channels on the both synths.

Hey man. Thanks for the advise. Even though I've been playing around the Southern Wi. & regional clubs, I never really worked on learning the ins & outs of MIDI (NO PUN INTENDED). I got one of the 2 Mirages from my basement storage and hooked it up and got nothing.... But...One of these 2 keyboards has no output when hooked up, so I guess I'll have my neighbor go back downstairs and get the other one, or maybe even the ESQ1. I dumped my bike last Summer and broke my right leg and I'm still on crutches, so I can't carry anything up or down the stairs. I'll let you know what happens when I get it all hooked up AGIAN. Thanks!
