Therevox ET-4 ~ new Ondes Martenot inspired analog synth

Post by _seph » Sat Dec 24, 2011 1:06 pm

http://therevox.com/

This recently caught my eye and I was surprised to see a lack of discussion/external info about this upcoming synth. It reminds me slightly of Eowave's Persephone, which I attempted to buy several years ago but at the time the wait would have been too long. Lately I was thinking about possibly getting the improved Persephone II, then I found the ET-4 which is somewhat less pricey, has a built in spring reverb and uses the ring controller from the Ondes Martenot

I would really enjoy both, but I'm currently leaning more towards the Therevox, although the duo phonic and MIDI enabled features of the Persephone II would be nice... anyway, I thought perhaps a few of you might also find this interesting and perhaps have more info to share while I make up my mind over the next month.

ET-4 ~ FEATURES AND SPECS

two pressure-sensitive keys for oscillator amplitude with CV outputs

6 octave settings for each oscillator
oscillator sync
low-pass filter with cutoff control via knob and external expression pedal
spring reverb
silent tuner output with oscillator selector
110/120V or 220/240V

That looks really interesting.

With the reverb it seems capable of producing some really haunting sounds, plus the pressure sensitive amplitude keys are an excellent idea I think.
Come on Bennett.... Let's Party!

First I've heard about it. Price is very good, too.

I have to say that I wouldn't find enough use for an instrument like this, though.
I listened to Hatfield and the North at Rainbow. They were very wonderful and they made my heart a prisoner.
